Music Monday

Some mellow guys that deliver the sweet folky goodness. And SURPRISE! Three of these albums come from artists we already know and love…

Justin Vernon from Bon Iver created Volcano Choir, J.Tillman is the drummer for Fleet Foxes, and Monsters of Folk is the brainchild of M. Ward, Conor Oberst and Mike Mogis from Bright Eyes, and Jim James from My Morning Jacket. Amazing stuff here…

Mix My Granola

granola

Spare me the hippie insults, because this is some cool stuff! Mix My Granola lets you create your own muesli medley (ya see what I did there?) with dried fruits, nuts, and some seriously nutritional seeds to create your own personal concoction.

There are over 70 ingredients to choose from, and you can so easily check the nutrition calculator mid-mix. So Mix-It! yourself or for those less confident, browse their Pre-Mixes. Mmmmm tasty!

Weekending

I am loving this November! It’s been perfectly sunny and autumn-tastic lately, and this weekend was no exception. So I finally got the chance to explore Indy with my new camera goodies.

Camera Treats

Pretty excited about the new lens and set of filters I got for my birthday last week. But this whole daylight savings thing has really ruined my evening photo time. I took this quick pic of Toby post-fetch (hey flare!), but can’t wait to play with some shots this weekend!

LOOK! I’m a real blog!

Call me Geppetto, but I thought it was time to turn this sad little art
blog into something real. Something fun and interesting that you
might actually want to revisit? So here goes….

A few weeks ago the fall colors were in full force and Indianapolis
was loving it! Every park was packed with kids, and dogs and….
photographers. So I couldn’t resist :)

I’m still a newbie in the photography world, but here are some
shots using my Canon 30D!

Mumford and Sons

Mumford Sons mumford

These guys are everywhere! Mumford and Sons is a fab new folk band from London, and their debut album Sigh No More is such a standout. They’re fronted by Marcus Mumford, who was the drummer for Laura Marling (you’ll want to check her out too, people) and they have a banjo. Need I say more?

Style me.

I’ve been really into fashion blogs lately. The only problem is that I always look at them after I’ve already gotten dressed for the day….so my daily outfit choices are inevitably disappointing. If only I could raid these ladies’ closets!

Julie at Orchid Grey, Krystal at This Time Tomorrow, and Rebecca at The Clothes Horse are some of my favorite bloggers. And I want to steal this last look. So perfect.

Maybe I just need to start getting up earlier, so my creativity is awake before work!

Music anyone?

Why not make this blog a little more interesting? Sure, art is fun. But it’s only one of way too many things I love.

At the top of that love list is music. And these four albums are taking over my iPod right now. An eclectic collection, but you can always use a little indie electro-pop. Here are my favorites, or you can click on the album to explore for yourself…
