Tea, Alice?

Meet my new tea set! Well, it’s not exactly new but it’s the first time I’ve been able to enjoy it since Sam bought me the beautiful gift for Christmas. In fact, this breakable beauty has been across the Pacific four times in the past few months! But this morning it was cool and damp from last night’s storm, so I lost the bubble wrap and sat out on the balcony.

There are four different colored tea cups and saucers with this gold-green pot, and it looks stolen straight from the set of Alice and Wonderland. I love how garish it is, and the details are gorgeous.IMG_2361

From the airport…

photo

I’m a little late with this one, but I still had to share. I snapped this with Sam’s phone the day I arrived here. We were driving from the airport and as we turned around the bend into Cronulla, the sunrise came to greet us. It was such a special moment and I felt like I was just where I should be at that moment.

I’m here!

And I am loving it. The sky is sunny, the sand is warm, the ocean is perfectly refreshing and I have to keep reminding myself that I LIVE here now. It feels a bit like an endless vacation at the moment so Sam and I have been enjoying every second.

Oh and speaking of the beau…these beauties were waiting for me at the new home. Very lucky girl :)

(For those of you who want to vomit because of my incessant happiness, I promise to tone it down and get back to normal blogging soon.)

Today’s the day!!

Two 50 pound suitcases, a carry-on, my backpack, two books, three movies, lots of music, and a teary, slobbery goodbye from Tobes and we’re off to O’Hare! Going to try not to cry at the airport with my parents. Ahhh, who am I kidding?! Love them too much.

But I’m so excited. I can’t believe today is finally here! So long America….Hello Australia :)

Indianapolis

I’m really glad my friend Sarah asked me to do this painting for her. I would have never thought to paint the Indianapolis skyline, mostly because it’s just so far from my style, but this piece challenged me in a really fantastic way. I love the way it turned out and feel a bit sentimental because I was able to say goodbye to Indy in this special way.

I shopped.

Oops! Even though I have to fit my entire wardrobe into just TWO suitcases (yes, two. DIE.) I still couldn’t help myself. Partner-in-crime? The mom. And boy did we shop! Most of my favorite things came from the day-long spree, especially this amazingly retro Tignanello bag. I’m in love…

But these little beauties just happened to be waiting for us at home. Thank you Urban for delivery to my doorstep :)

COLOUR!

Yes, I have a million other things to do before I can even start THINKING about this…but I’m secretly really excited to start decorating a fresh new  home. I’m a daily reader of Design*Sponge and Apartment Therapy and can’t help but fall in love with some of their features.

I think this is my favorite. I remembered seeing it a few months ago (and stupidly didn’t save the link) so I searched through a million archives to find it again. Totally worth it. Gahhhh I love this couch…

Yeah, I’m noticing the pattern too :)

Target Acquired

Thank goodness for Emily, who was physically holding me back from the gorgeous LoL quilts, pillows and dishes at Target on Saturday. I would have walked out of there the proud owner of MANY things had it not been for her logic. Sooooo, I made the very smart purchase (considering my situation) of correspondence cards. Lovely.

And it was as if my mother channeled a little Liberty of London herself this weekend, because these were magically on the kitchen table when I got back from Indy.

Liberty of London for Target

LibertyofLondonTarget

I am so excited for this designer collection at Target (in stores March 14th!) Liberty of London is known for their gorgeously ornate prints and the Target selection will have everything from apparel and accessories, to bedding, stationery, furniture, and even a bike!

I’ve been loving everything bright and floral lately so I’m just going to have to buy all of this stuff and take an extra suitcase to Oz with me.

Oh! And Target has desktop backgrounds you can download for free here. Time to get ready for spring!

1017 Chatfield

I’ve officially moved from Indy!! It was a crazy weekend, packed with packing, stacking, trashing, donating, cleaning, painting and complete exhaustion. But we got it all done! And the Boys and Girls Club of Cedar Lake will be having one amazingly awesome garage sale come May. Geez, I had a lot of stuff!

I’ve been so busy this month that I didn’t really have a chance to enjoy my apartment one last time, so these photos will have to do. Who said I wasn’t sentimental…DIANA!? :)

Two beautiful friends gave me such a beautiful gift the other day. I can’t believe how lucky I am to have them in my life :)

Buh Bye BaM

It’s my last day at BaM – the advertising agency I’ve worked at for 3 1/2 years – and I’m so sad to be leaving. I’ve had some of the best experiences, opportunities, memories and friends here. And even though I know this isn’t goodbye, a trip down memory lane is still in order!

Our three fearless leaders – looking very busy and important. And Toby was always busy too. Work is hard for a puppy!

Work is Hard IMG_2816

And we worked just as hard! During the summer of 2008 we spent every weekend in Best Buy parking lots across the country for Microsoft’s Mojave Experiment.

It wasn’t all work and no play though. Because we found every excuse for fun. Halloween parties, Christmas parties, birthday flip-cup parties (Grown-ups? Where?)…

And then the BaM Christmas party that will go down in history, with half of the agency in a shower…

And the funniest moment of all time….when three ladies were dressed in their best party attire, sitting in a bathtub and Linds turned the tap on.

There were also amazing concerts and whirlwind trips to Seattle, Vegas, New York, Arizona, Atlanta, Portland, Austin, San Fran…

And an incredible ski trip to Michigan I’ll never forget.

But most of all I’m just blessed to have met such beautiful people and made forever friends.

Love you all!

We’re all a little mad.

alice-in-wonderland-2010-hq-photos5

I haven’t been this excited for a movie since I was a little kid! I love everything about this film – the design, the direction, the actors, the colors, the makeup, the clothes! So I’m going to see a movie on opening day for the first time in…probably my whole life. Can’t wait.

And even beyond the movie itself, I’m loving everything Alice inspired! I found this incredible Vogue editorial shot by Annie Leibovitz back in 2003 and couldn’t believe how timeless it was. You’d think it was shot just this year!

And for those who are really obsessed, Laurel Avenue Bakery has a special Alice-inspired treat for you…
