WAVES

Last weekend Sam and I spent the weekend in Mollymook with some great friends. It was the type of weekend you look forward to for a while and build up really huge expectations for – but then it totally meets and exceeds all of them and you don’t want to have to go home. Ever.

So Sam and I drove down on Friday afternoon, getting there just in time to go for a late afternoon swim. The sun was setting, the waves were insanely fun and we spent over 2 hours out there body surfing, swallowing salt water and collecting as much sand in our hair and suits as we possibly could!

But I’m getting pretty good myself! (Haha, the excitement on my face totally gives me away. Such a nerd. And I’m pretty sure I got dumped by this one.)

On Saturday we went to our fave brekky spot, Pilgrims and then drove a bit further down the coast for the boys to check out a surf spot. “The Hook” as they call it. Us ladies were keen to get out in the water as well, but we knew it would take a little motivation because the waves were pretty big. About 10 minutes into sunning ourselves on the beach the boys were yelling and pointing out in the water (Oh God, shark?! Please don’t eat them!) but about 50 meters out we spotted the pod of dolphins they were all excited about. So we grabbed our boards and tried to make it out in time. But remember how I said the waves were big? Yeah, and there were rips. Soooooo that didn’t really happen. But dolphins! Seriously, what is my life?!

Balcony Views

Another amazing trip to Mollymook. This time we spent the weekend with two other fabulous couples and had a blast beaching, surfing, drinking, and just generally being awesome.

On Saturday night we were recovering from our hangovers and a long day of surfing....well, the boys were at least :) when this stunning sunset surprised us on the balcony. It was the perfect way to finish off our day and kick off another night of fun.

EXCITEMENT

Okay, are you ready for this.....

I've been asked to photograph a wedding, and I said YES!!!

It was made official this weekend and I feel so honored that this lovely couple wants ME to capture their special day. It's going to be an incredible experience. Shooting my very first wedding in the stunning Hunter Valley wine country surrounded by beautiful landscapes, vineyards, and love. What an opportunity!

This may be a first for me, but it definitely won't be a last. So keep an eye out for the photos in October and keep me in mind for any of your special events :)

A SURPRISE VALENTINE

I've learned that he is a throw-her-off-the-scent kind of guy, because I was under the impression that "We really shouldn't buy anything for each other. It just supports the commercialism of it all!"

How crazy futuristic are these?! In bud always does an amazing job. By far the best florist in Cronulla, if not Sydney!

Love him.

A NEW YEAR, A NEW LOOK

Yep, my blog got a facelift! I'm loving the new layout, and loving my new logo and watermark even more. It may just be my signature, but The Creative Company made it look so pretty :)

Now I just need some business cards and I'll be a real grown-up.

INSPIRATIONS

I may regret this post later as you friends and followers will think I'm way less cool than all of these other people....but I wanted to share some of the websites where I get inspiration from with you. Being in the creative industry (advertising, photography, painting....) I am constantly discovering other talented people who make me feel completely inadequate and supremely un-cool. And admittedly, I search them out. Because despite being ridiculously competitive all. the. time. I actually want to be proven wrong, made a fool of, and outdone creatively. Where would we be creatively without pushing each other to be better, do better and create better?

This goes for nearly everything in life of course, but I think artists are exceptionally sensitive to it. We have to see, feel, touch, hear, ABSORB new experiences all the time to feed our inspirations. Left to our own devices, we'd be lost in selfishness and culture clueless-ness. Unable to absorb and so unable to participate.

I love sharing what I create and what inspires me on this blog. And because even that wasn't enough to fill my brain, I started we are best. This side-site has been so much fun for me and has led me to discover so many stylish, unique, creative, interesting people out there. Here are just a few...in no particular order. Thanks to all of them :)
