Hello dear readers! How was your week? Mine was incredibly short thanks to a five day holiday weekend. I know....so awesome. Apparently it will be another 27 years before Easter and ANZAC Day fall on the same weekend to give us Aussies a five day break. Lucky, huh!? Anywho, here are some findings from around the web I think you might enjoy. Have a happy weekend!

Fleet Foxes new album Helplessness Blues is out May 3rd. I've been loving this track.

The most perfect shower.

Adorable illustrations from what I can only assume would be an equally adorable Melbourne artist - Cake with Giants.

Nerd alert: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer. Can't wait.

This is quite a nice mantra. I think I'll try that.

And in the same breath, this post from Sara at Sprouted Kitchen is really wonderful. She's been pondering....

If you could chose a word to describe the tone of your life, what would it be?

I think I'll be thinking about this :) Thanks to my friend Amy for sharing!

DRIVING FOR SUNSETS

Yeah, so this has pretty much turned into a blog about sunsets. Sorry about that…..

aaaaaaanyway…..

there was a stunning sunset following us on the drive down to Mollymook for Easter break. We even had to pull over for a couple quick shots. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

HOPPY EASTER

Welcome to The Friday Feast! I thought it might be fun to have a weekly post that you can count on each Friday to bring you internet joys. (Not those kinds of joys! Ya filthy bugger.) No no...it will be a collection of things that I've found throughout the week and want to share with all of you lovelies. Maybe a recipe, or an inspiring piece of art or even just a great photo that caught my attention. Each week will have a new heading design and plenty of new finds for you, so I hope you like it!

Easy, healthy and inexpensive lunches are hard to come by. Enter... these recipes.

This Tumblr of all things J.Crew is lovely.

Heidi braids with fabric? Yes, please.

Might have to jump on the Tina Fey book bandwagon pretty soon. I hear it's hilarious?

I would really like this Australia print.

What a cool typeface!

Awe, hello bunny rabbit.

Happy Easter everyone! Go ahead....dig into those chocolate eggs and hot cross buns. No one is judging...

BAKED APPLES

Over the past year I’ve turned into much more of a cook than I was previously. Living on my own for a few years put me in the habit of unimpressive, after-gym dinners that were quick and easy (I mean, Toby didn’t really judge so who was I trying to impress?!). But now, I’ve got a boy to impress :) And Sam and I really enjoy making dinners together. He’s a really good cook and has taught me plenty, but I like to think I’m getting pretty good myself :)

Anyway, dinner schminner….what about dessert?! Yep, I’m cooking those up too and the other day I made a batch of baked stuffed apples. I followed this recipe and it was really yum, but there are a few things I’ll change next time. Maybe a different type of apple, peeled, and possibly even chopped into chunks smothered with the stuffing. Yeah, I’m that crazy. Look out.

I started a new painting this past weekend. Pretty excited to get further along with it over the holidays! Painting in Mollymook is my favorite :)

20 MINUTES

I love how the last bit of sunlight hits the top of the buildings at dusk. Taken over just 20 minutes from the balcony…

SHARING UPDATES

Hey kids! I just wanted to share a couple quick updates with you. I've been spending some time researching and coding new features for this blog, and have finally made some of them live! My goal with these was really just to make sharing posts and making comments easier. I absolutely love when you guys leave comments on here or on Facebook because it helps me know what you like reading or seeing on the blog. So keep em coming! Hopefully some of these new bits will make it easier for you to interact with my posts and photos.

First up is the 'Like' button. Ahhh yes, Facebook is taking over the world.

The Like button will appear after each post and will link to your Facebook account. So if you click the "Like" it will post something like this on your FB page:

Cool, huh?! If you don't want to share though, you can definitely disable this or just delete the post afterwards. Although I'll be extra super nice to you if you do share my posts or photos :)

The other change is a widget that brings up old posts you might be interested in after reading a recent post. You may have noticed these up on the site for a little while now. These are awesome because it links to older posts that some of you may not have ever seen!

And last but not least, I have a new comment moderator. Nothing fancy here, but Disqus let's you log in with any of your many online accounts (Facebook, Twitter, Disqus, etc.) to leave a comment. It also lets you use links and photos in your comments. Don't be too scared by the look of her. She's nice...I promise :)

So there ya go! Is there anything else that you want to see updated on here? Any other features you would use? Or even things you want me to post about? I'm always open to your suggestions :)

HUMAN PLANET

Who didn't love Planet Earth? I dare you to put your hand up :)

Well, BBC has done it again with Human Planet. It just looks extraordinary.

Human Planet is an awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, heart-stopping landmark series that marvels at mankind's incredible relationship with nature in the world today.
Uniquely in the animal kingdom, humans have managed to adapt and thrive in every environment on Earth. Each episode takes you to the extremes of our planet: the arctic, mountains, oceans, jungles, grasslands, deserts, rivers and even the urban jungle. Here you will meet people who survive by building complex, exciting and often mutually beneficial relationships with their animal neighbours and the hostile elements of the natural world.

OHHH, JCREW

I know, I know...it's all about autumn over here. I'm sorry, I'm just excited!! Haha.

But honestly, how could you not be with this ridiculously cool Fall Collection from J.Crew? I know it's been around the blog world for a while now, so you're not seeing anything new here, but I just had to share my favorites. Aside from the women's collection, I ADORE the men's line. A certain person I know would totally rock these looks.

MAKE ME UP

Thanks to my ever stylish and trendy friend over at Murphy Styles I was tipped off about the two-for-one sale on Revlon lip and nail products this week. And let me tell you… with the insane cosmetic product prices in this country….you DON’T miss a sale. I found a pretty insanely perfect lip stain in Flame and a matte grey nail polish….just in time for autumn. Loving it.

I’m not cool enough to have sponsored products, soooooo yeah….this isn’t one. I just like it.

BEDROOM ART

It's been a while since I posted about the apartment....soooo I thought I would :)

When we first moved into our place back in September, we were totally in love with it. I spent weeks....months...planning how to decorate it and finding great pieces to furnish with. In a few months, it finally got there and I was so happy with how it turned out. It was just comfy, and awesome, and we LOVED being at home. This was a pretty big deal for both Sam and I, being the social butterflies that we are. But over the next few months we really tucked in. We had movie nights with take-away thai, dinner parties on our balcony, lazy weekends of hanging out at home, and early nights to bed. But there was the one problem.....we hated our bedroom! The mattress was a black hole of mid-sleep sinking, the lighting was all wrong, the walls were boring beige, actually everything was beige, the curtains were hideous....this list goes on.

So starting back in February we go to it - tucking into home work instead of just home. First up was a new mattress. Helloooooooo good nights sleep! Then we made curtains. Out of this beautiful, rich navy blue fabric that blocks out every bit of sunlight from the millions of windows and makes me feel like I'm sleeping in a cave. Sigh. Then a chocolate-colored Eqyptian cotton quilt of the perfect weight, and crisp new white sheets. Some accent pillows and artwork later, and we finally have a space so welcoming and comfy that it's nearly impossible to get out of bed in the morning. Below is some of my inspiration for the overhaul and then the artwork I've collected for finishing touches!

Yeah....ours isn't quite THAT cozy (goodness, I love these bedrooms) but it's still nice :)

Here are some of the things living on our walls now...

...aaaaand this is what the collection looks like. This is on the wall opposite the door and bed. I couldn't get a nice photo, so this little creation of mine will have to do :)
